007 Bonding Sessions

From Connery’s to Craig’s, the watches sported by our favorite “Double-0” have always exuded a certain edgy panache. Function has never been in better form than with the watches worn by Ian Fleming’s iconic secret agent.

THUNDERBALL // SEAN CONNERY

BREITLING NAVITIMER
One of two Breitling timepieces used in
the film that plays a central role in the plot: The Navitimer was originally worn in the film by French NATO pilot François Derval. The model seen in the film is a mid-1960s model, 4th generation, boasting a Venus 178 movement and unique bezel. But you can get the modern Navitimer 801 Chronograph 46 at breitling.com.

CASINO ROYALE // DAVID NIVEN

ROLEX GMT-MASTER II
Before Omega took center stage, Rolex was the famed British secret agent’s watch of choice. David Niven stepped in to give Sean Connery a nice break and flaunt- ed a whole new timepiece: the GMT-Master II, originally created in 1955. The modern version kept true to its heyday with a few time-appropriate (no pun intended) tweaks: eased readability and increased precision, among others. Price upon request at rolex.com.

LICENSE TO KILL // TIMOTHY DALTON

ROLEX SUBMARINER
Yes, James Bond was still wearing a Rolex in 1989. Dalton’s final appearance as Bond was also the last film in which the spy wore a Rolex. The Submariner in the film is a reference 5513 with a matching Oyster bracelet. Today’s model can take a dive at up to an action hero-worthy 1,000 feet. Price upon request at rolex.com.

DIE ANOTHER DAY // PIERCE BROSNAN

OMEGA SEAMASTER I
Brosnan always sported a Seamaster in his four-film run as Agent Bond. In fact, the Seamaster 2531.80 made an appearance in three of the movies. While this watch may not have a laser that cuts through steel (wouldn’t that be cool?!), you can buy a similar edition: the Seamaster 220.80.00 Model prices vary at omegawatches.com.

NO TIME TO DIE // DANIEL CRAIG

OMEGA SEAMASTER PROFESSIONAL DIVER
OMEGA watchmakers worked closely with the filmmakers and Daniel Craig himself for the development of this 007 watch for the most recent (and Craig’s final) Bond flick. Craig calls it “an incredibly comfortable watch to wear,” as it’s lightweight, robust and crafted with Grade 2 Titanium. Price upon request at omegawatches.com.
