In the enchanting world of fashion, where trends ebb and flow like the tides, Stüssy has remained an unwavering icon. A name synonymous with streetwear, it’s a brand that transcends generations. Just ask Brockton Kodama (pictured), general manager of Stüssy Honolulu, whose family has been affiliated with the brand for decades. For the Kodama family, Stüssy Honolulu is more than just a store — it’s a testament to enduring partnerships. It all began with Stüssy’s first Chapter location within Island Snow’s Kailua store (Island Snow was founded by James Kodama, Brockton’s father), and from that inception, their partnership has only grown stronger.

The new Stüssy Honolulu boutique at Royal Hawaiian Center opened last fall — one of only three Chapter stores in the US. This flagship location takes center stage, boasting over 2,100 square feet of space. Here, every detail has been meticulously curated to create a fashion sanctuary for enthusiasts and streetwear connoisseurs alike. Willo Perron, the visionary behind the store’s design (not to mention the performance stage for Rihanna’s iconic halftime show during last year’s Super Bowl) has blended modern aesthetics with island soul. Within the boutique’s circular layout, aluminum structures gracefully intertwine with warm woods, creating an ambiance that’s contemporary yet inviting. Lustrous green marble and Cantera stone harmonize seamlessly with the surroundings, adorning walls, planters and display fixtures. The resulting fusion of natural textures and sleek design elements makes the space not just visually appealing but profoundly immersive — think, modern art museum but with things you’re actually allowed to touch and try on. As for Stüssy wear, the store offers its coveted array of signature seasonal collections and collaborations, not to mention exclusive merch including limited-edition T-shirts and board shorts.
