There’s some exciting buzz (and perhaps the sound of bongos) in the air at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and it’s all thanks to the fantastic new, albeit temporary, addition that just opened in mid-May — the SelvaRey Rum Bar at Fairmont Orchid. The pop-up bar is a new concept co-created with chart-topping, multi-Grammy award-winning artist (and local boy) Bruno Mars. Complete with beachfront view, it’s a hotspot for spectacular sunsets, tasty bites and of course outstanding, SelvaRey Rum-infused cocktails.

Imagine stepping into a lively tropical haven; that’s the vibe radiating from the SelvaRey Rum Bar. Showcasing a blend of modern and timeless charm, the intimate beach bar is located to provide sweeping views of the glimmering ocean that spans across Fairmont Orchid’s private Pauoa Bay.

Timed perfectly for the start of summer, SelvaRey Rum Bar is geared up to be the ultimate haunt for happy hour. Open from 4 pm till the skies are painted with hues of a breathtaking sunset, it’s the perfect backdrop for some much-needed relaxation, accompanied by the rhythmic serenade of the waves.

“SelvaRey represents Tropical Luxury, and Fairmont Orchid is the ideal stage to bring this vision to life,” shares Bruno Mars, who also co-owns SelvaRey. He even made a cameo to kick off the bar opening in May and played bartender for the pop-up’s first round of patrons. The collaboration of these two powerhouses promises to offer an experience that’s not just fun, but unforgettable.

SelvaRey Rum Bar isn’t just about gorgeous views, though. There’s a delightful menu waiting to be explored, filled with tropical refreshments that'll have anyone’s taste buds dancing. The SelvaRey cocktails, inspired by the musician himself, are the stars of the show. The cocktail menu boasts five signature drinks — Mojito Royale, Weekend at Bruno’s, Uptown Punch, The Cold Brewno, and our personal favorite, the Hollywood Colada made with SelvaRey Coconut Rum, pineapple, coconut water, agave and lime. Paired with a range of sumptuous fare, it’s an enviable way to kick back while watching the sun set over the magnificent Kohala Coast. 

SelvaRey Rum Bar is now open from 4pm to sunset, through the end of June.
