EYE-EYE

We asked makeup artist extraordinaire Kecia Littman for her tips on giving good eye.

Littman points out that since masks are the norm, now’s the time to “wear colors that have been sitting in my drawer for months.” Some current popular trends for playing up one’s eyes include “Earth tone colors, blush tones and rich jeweled pigments ... I am in love with [the new Pat McGrath Labs] palette, Divine Rose 1 – Mothership V7.

Other ways to accentuate the eyes include a good eyelash curler. “I love Shu Uemura, it works in seconds and provides the perfect curl,” she says.

Next, Littman advises to add lift and drama with mascara. “My favorite, Pat McGrath Labs FestishEyes mascara provides optimum volume.”

Whether you’re working from home, on a heavy schedule of Zoom calls or back with an in-office 8-hour work day, Littman says that a good waterproof eyeliner that’s gentle on the eyes will help your look go the distance. “Gel formulations tend to glide on smoother and give that power-packed pigment in seconds,” she explains.

Her tools for creating a perfect smokey eye include Pat McGrath Perma gel Ultra glide eye pencil and a small domed brush to smooth the color all over the lid. She follows that up with a shimmery color for dramatic effect. To shape the crease, she uses Cozzette S185 brush and follows it up with a darker shade on the outer corner of the eye. Mascara or your favorite lashes add the finishing touch.
