IWC DA VINCI CHRONOGRAPH

Hollywood A-listers, from Charlie Chaplin to Bradley Cooper, have long championed International Watch Company’s minimalist offerings. But the more complicated Da Vinci chrono took centerstage since Mahershala Ali wore it to the Oscars in 2017, where he took home a Best Supporting Actor statue for his role in “Moonlight,” which also won Best Picture. ROLEX GMT-MASTER II

Watch nerds consider the design an all-time classic. So do film buffs. After all, the GMT-Master was famously Marlon Brando’s latter-day timepiece of choice—he even wore it on-screen in 1979’s “Apocalypse Now.” Like the Rolex he owned, this latest version has signature bidirectional bezel (seen here in the highly sought-after blue/black colorway) but comes on a more refined, multi-link Jubilee steel bracelet. CARTIER TANK SOLO XL

For nearly a century, Cartier’s rectangular dress watch has been standard equipment for the best-dressed leading men. Among its many devotees: Fred Astaire, Clark Cable, Gary Cooper, Steve McQueen, Warren Beatty, Jeff Goldblum and Rami Malek. (Talk about pedigree.) Sized at 31 x 40mm, the updated XL model brings contemporary proportions but maintains the Tank’s iconic, square-jawed lines and, in turn, its inherent red-carpet appeal. ($3,450 at cartier.com)

MONTBLANC STAR LEGACY DATE AUTOMATIC

Since rolling out its debut timepiece in 1997, heritage luxury penmaker Montblanc has quickly ascended the ranks of modern Swiss watchmaking. The brand’s elegant, subtle design language especially resonates with younger stars; in recent years, Chris Hemsworth, Armie Hammer, Jordan Peele and Chris Evans have all worn Montblanc to premieres and awards ceremonies.
