Oenophiles gathered at Mariposa recently for a special wine dinner, hosted by Neiman Marcus, featuring Angelina Mondavi. Executive chef Lawrence Nakamoto collaborated with Napa Valley chef Holly Peterson on a menu that complemented a suite of wines selected by Mondavi, including the Purple Heart Red Wine 2014 and the Fourth Leaf Cabernet Sauvignon. Portions of the proceeds from the night’s dinner benefitted the Pacific Aviation Museum, an organization that the Mondavi family has supported in the past. Peter Mondavi Sr., president, CEO and lead ambassador for C. Mondavi & Family served in the Army during WWII. The Purple Heart Wine was created with the Purple Heart Foundation and pays tribute to the United States’ military heroes.
