The Malama Palama gala, a benefit for Palama Settlement, honored two past Hawai‘i governors: George Ariyoshi and Ben Cayetano. Both men grew up in Kalihi and went to Palama Settlement as children; they both remember swimming in the pool and have since become strong supporters of the organization.
