Dignitaries congregated for an elegant evening at this year’s Consular Corps inaugural Ball, held at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel’s Monarch Room. The Royal Hawaiian Band and the Johnny Valentine Band provided the evening’s entertainment, while Consul Adm. Zap Zlatoper took on emcee duties. Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald administered the oath of office to the new officers, which included incoming Dean, Consul Jan Rumi, representing Morocco and Bangladesh. The Consular Corps presented Adm. Henry Harris with an award.
