Many of these families are from the neighbor islands and have nowhere to stay while their child is receiving critical care at Honolulu hospitals. For O\'ahu-based families, the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Kapi\'olani Medical Center is a home away from home. All told, 300-400 families stay at the Ronald McDonald Houses in Manoa each year, and the Family Room services more than 10,000 people annually.

At the gala event that raised $413,000 for RMHCH, guests included dignitaries and families who\'ve benefitted from the Ronald McDonald House.
