FEBRUARY IS THE MONTH THAT INVOKES THOUGHTS OF LOVE AND ROMANCE. IT IS THE TIME OF YEAR WHEN A MANY A COUPLE make lifetime commitments to each other and begin to plan the event of their lifetimes-their wedding day.

They ask themselves; will the wedding be held in a hotel, an o° -site venue or at a private estate? What will create the signature look for the event; the look that stamps the wedding in memory for all who attend?

After years of interacting with the quintessential designer of tent parties-David Beahm out of New York-we suggest that a spectacular tented event may create the perfect picture for a memorable wedding at any budget point.

We called David Beahm Design and asked Christina Matteucci, Executive Director of his firm to describe one of their most lavish tented events. Matteucci stated that one of her favorite events “is a nightclub scene reminiscent of the big band era from days gone by.”

For Hawai’i, an equally grand set-up can also be created-this time, outdoors. With the help of Raj Tents-a company that has been a part of the Hawaiian landscape for sometime-a tented fête is within isles’ reach.

Maui based company Pacific Event Group brought these tents to the islands a few years back, and they have made quite the splash with their detailed finishing touches. ~ ese canvas tents that have embellishments such as scalloping, draperies and tassels as well as tent liners and finials to create a unique look to each and every event. ~ ese are perfect for weddings, fundraisers or other private a° airs. Creating a small village with multiple tents can create intrigue by placing lounge furnishings in a few areas, food in others and even a bar in the final tent. This will create movement for your party as guests meander from one space to the next.

As seen in the photo, the splash of fabulous design is often created by the tent itself. Equally elegant, the carpet, the draperies and the ceiling treatment may all be created in a neutral palette in order to provide a striking canvas to the backdrop of any party. ~ e intimacy, the feeling of privacy and the luxury of the moment created by tenting add the final touches to a memorable evening.

Our Hawaiian-based design team has learned that some of the most elegant events are created within simple, but tasteful tent structures. It is the balance of design within the tent that makes the décor your own. Indoors or outdoors, in your favorite hotel, restaurant or garden, the luxury of tenting you next big event can take your breath away as your prepare for the celebration of a lifetime.
