If reading our recent “Need a Lift?” piece piqued your preventative beauty plans, yet you’re still wary of booking an Ultherapy session, you’re not alone. While I don’t shy from light therapy, for those simply wanting to dip their toes in “lunchtime lifts,” Green Spa Hawaii offers an excellent eco-friendly Natural Botox Facial. Fatigued from jet leg, headaches or work woes? Meet your Earth-friendly remedy—which is sans needles to boot!

Designed for women wanting to rid fine lines, the active ingredients used in the Natural Botox Facial are tailored to one’s skin. Ideal for boosting beneficial O2 pressure into the skin’s deepest layers, the oxygen machine treatment touts no side effects and no chemicals, resulting in a green remedy that encourages cell renewal and collagen production. Bonus: The treatment is done in Green Spa Hawaii’s environmentally sound—and adorable—space. (Green Spa’s whimsical locale is accented with lime walls and cascading plants!)

Pick you desired aroma, and enjoy a revitalizing treatment for both body and mind. Noted to heighten concentration, alertness and energy, oxygen treatments calm the nervous system, boost body recovery, improve digestion and relieve fatigue. Breathe in, and bask in the glorious benefits of oxygen! (Fun fact: According to Green Spa Hawaii, 90% of our energy comes from oxygen; a mere 10% is from food and water!)

Green Spa Hawaii’s 75-minute* facial (*time includes prep) is customized to each individual’s skin. For those on a shorter lunch break, an Express version is available upon reservation. Linda Shafie, Green Spa’s certified clinical oncology aesthetician, performed my Express version, which began by measuring my skin’s hydration level. Half of the face/neck area is done first to measure the treatment’s progress midway.

“It’s forcing your pores to open and be circulated with clean oxygen, which is not something that we get every day,” Shafie says. “Just that pure oxygen treatment is really beneficial for our skin, boosting collage, hydration and elasticity.”

A natural grape seed cleanser, coupled with a Clarisonic, cleans the skin to remove impurities. Then enters the oxygen.  After the oxygen, a mask is applied to lock in the products’ nutrients and purifying components. The full treatment adds a papaya enzyme peel (to rid skin of additional toxins).

Why is it called a Botox facial? You get a Botox-like lift, without the needles or high price tag!

“The oxygen replaces the traditional massage time, which is a natural lifting ‘uplift’ in a facial,” Shafie shares.

“One of the best benefits of my job is seeing people leave with a smile, feeling energized, more confident, and better about themselves than when they came in.” Shafie expresses. “I love self-care. You know how you feel when you leave. It’s peaceful and rewarding to do that for someone.”
