Replete with all the comforts of a royal’s home, St. Regis Princeville’s top suite oozes elegance.
When seeking out a paradisiacal getaway, St. Regis Princeville is a no-brainer. Tucked away at the end of the road in Princeville Kaua‘i, the grounds of the property gently cascades down the hillside, spilling out towards the beach, with Mount Makana, the fabled “Bali Hai” gazing back from across the opening of Hanalei Bay.
St. Regis Princeville elevates the graciousness of Kaua‘i hospitality with its renowned service throughout the property, including its St. Regis Butler Service. Guests may delight in fine dining at Kauai Grill or lounge in the most refined way possible with an Aloha Mary at the St. Regis Bar. They may splash in the lagoon-style pool, or catch some rays on the beach. From the moment you are greeted at the porte-cochere, as you make your way through the grand lobby to your room and beyond, the entire experience is about treating you like royalty.
So, what better way to revel in the epitome of that experience than in the Royal Suite? More than just a suite, it’s a sanctuary. Featuring a private entry, living salon, formal dining room, premium sound system, custom furnishings and stunning artwork, the 2,400-square-foot Royal Suite also allows guests to experience the resort’s breathtaking views.
“The Royal Suite’s interior design embraces the interplay between indoors and outdoors—a signature of Hawaiian style living,” says Stephanie Kaluahine Reid, director of public relations. “Sprawling across five guest room bays, the suite has multiple outdoor terraces and expansive glass windows. The suite also features a ‘Royal Spa,’ which includes custom-built marble surround whirlpool bathtub, his and hers walk-in shower for two and a large dressing area.” There’s also a full-service kitchen and a private butler entrance.
Speaking of which, the famed St. Regis Butler service is a St. Regis tradition dating back to 1904 in New York. According to Robert Ancheta, Head Butler, this includes a welcome upon arrival by the butler, personalized suite preparations, facilitation of unpacking and packing, morning beverage service and garment pressing.
Of course, the St. Regis Butler can also suggest the best ways to enjoy the island. “We have an extensive selection of activities that can be enjoyed by guests, whether it be a honeymoon couple or a family,” Ancheta adds.
Adventurers may want to take a guided tour of Hanakapi‘ai Valley with Kaua‘i-based geologist Dr. Chuck Blay, or get in a round at the Princeville Makai Golf Course. The younger set may enjoy a beachside bonfire or a photography workshop. If rejuvenation’s what you’re after, head to the award-winning Halele‘a Spa. (Suggestion: get the Ke Kai Ola [Sea of Life] Facial, it’ll soothe any evils you’ve recently subjected your skin to).
“Our guests can enjoy a wide range of activities and distinctive St. Regis services, but ultimately our goal is to ensure that our guests receive the highest level of care and attention,” Ancheta adds.
It’s undoubtedly what attracted Oscar award-winner George Clooney to the suite when he was filming The Descendants on property. What a perfect way to live like a [Matt] King…
